# Add-ons: Time Off Management Add-on and Capacity Management
## This guide is for admins deciding whether to add the Time Off Management Add-on or Capacity Management to their Toggl plan. It explains what each add-on does, how pricing and trials work (including where to start a Capacity Management trial from the sidebar), and where to manage or cancel them. Each add-on also has its own dedicated guide with the full details.
Toggl has two paid add-ons that stack on top of any paid plan (Starter, Premium or Enterprise). You can add or remove them at any time, and each one comes with a 30-day free trial. Add-ons cannot be purchased on the Free plan.

### Time Off Management Add-on
The Time Off Management Add-on turns Toggl's personal time-off log into a managed, team-wide system. It adds approvals, balances, time-off types and policies, the ability to log time off for teammates, and the Absence & balances report.
**Key billing details:**
- Per-seat billing: you pay for the users you assign to the module, not the whole organization.
- Annual billing is 12× the monthly price — there is no annual discount.
- One subscription covers both Toggl and Toggl Track. If a user has the Time Off Management Add-on in both products, you are billed once for that person.
- Subscribing gives the organization access to the module; it does not assign it to every person automatically. An admin assigns members from Admin settings.
- A Time Off Management Add-on trial can be started without a paid plan. Keeping it after the trial requires an active paid Toggl plan.
- Each organization gets one trial. Once it has been used — even if it expired or was cancelled early — that organization cannot start another.

### Capacity Management
The Capacity Management Add-on adds a forward-looking layer to the capacity planning already included in your paid plan. It adds capacity indicators beyond this month, capacity by team on the Timeline, draft projects for planning work you haven't committed to, and forecast layers (Scheduled and Draft) in the Workload, Utilization and Profitability reports on Premium and Enterprise.
**Key billing details:**
- Per-person billing: the add-on covers every active member of your organization, and you pay for each of them. People who join later are added automatically. You cannot choose individual seats.
- You need an active paid Toggl plan to subscribe. You can also try the add-on while your organization is on a Toggl trial.
- Volume discounts apply on Enterprise.
- If you don't subscribe after the trial, your draft projects are kept but hidden. Subscribe again to bring them back.
Capacity Management also has its own page. Click **Capacity** in the sidebar, under **Manage**. Owners and Admins on a paid plan or a Toggl trial can start the 30-day free trial or buy the add-on there. Other members can click **Notify admin**, and organizations on Free see **Upgrade**. During the trial, the page shows the days left, a **Get started** checklist of the add-on features, the **Capacity inputs** your workspace already has (working hours, task estimates, time off, scheduled and draft work, holiday calendar), and a **Subscribe** button.

### Start a trial or subscribe
Only organization Owners and Admins can start a trial or subscribe to an add-on.
1. Click **Capacity** in the sidebar for Capacity Management. For either add-on, you can also open **Admin settings → Explore plans** and find it under **Modules**.
2. Click **Start 30-day free trial**. On **Explore plans**, the Capacity Management button reads **Start add-on trial**.
To keep the add-on after the trial, click **Subscribe** and choose annual or monthly billing.
When a Capacity Management trial starts, a short intro offers **Show me** or **Later**. **Show me** starts a quick tour of the screens where capacity planning happens. It skips any step you don't have permission for.
You will also see prompts on add-on features — for example, when you group the Timeline by team, turn on forecasting in a report, or create a draft project.
### Cancel an add-on
There are two ways to stop an add-on:
- **Unsubscribe** — cancels the paid subscription. The add-on stays active until the end of the current billing period, then turns off.
- **Deactivate** — revokes access for all members immediately. This also cancels an active trial.
To unsubscribe or deactivate, open **Admin settings → Billing → Overview**, find the add-on in the **Modules** table, and choose the action from its menu.
Cancelling an add-on never affects your core Toggl plan.
### Common questions
#### Can I use add-ons on the Free plan?
No. Add-ons work with Starter, Premium and Enterprise. If your organization is on a Toggl trial, you can start an add-on trial too. The Time Off Management Add-on is the exception: you can start its trial without a paid plan, but you need a paid plan to keep it after the trial.
#### Does the Capacity Management add-on include the Time Off Management Add-on?
No. They are separate add-ons with separate subscriptions and separate trials. Approved time off, holidays and working hours reduce capacity on every plan, with or without either add-on.
#### Can I try both add-ons at the same time?
Yes. Each add-on has its own independent 30-day trial.
#### What happens to my data when an add-on trial ends?
Your data is preserved. Features that require the add-on become locked or hidden, but the underlying data returns if you subscribe again. For Capacity Management, draft projects are kept but hidden until you resubscribe.
#### Why can't I start another trial?
Each organization gets one trial per add-on. Once it has been used — even if it expired or was cancelled early — that organization cannot start another. Subscribe to get the add-on back.
