Import your Track Data into Toggl 2.0 on the Mobile App

What the importer does

When you move from Toggl Track to Toggl 2.0, the importer copies the following from a Track workspace into a 2.0 workspace:

Clients
Projects
Tasks
Tags
Time logs

Only your own data comes across. Nothing in your Track workspace is modified, moved, or deleted — the import is a one-way copy into 2.0.

Date range

By default the importer brings across the last two weeks and the next two weeks of data (for example, Aug 4 to Sep 1). The forward window is deliberate: it captures planned work, calendar invites, and upcoming entries so your first days in 2.0 aren't blank.

To bring across your full history, run the import from the Toggl 2.0 web app instead of mobile.

Two ways to import

There are two entry points into the same flow.

1. During onboarding (first login)

If you sign in to the 2.0 app with an account that already has Track data, onboarding detects this and offers the importer automatically.

Sign in. Open the Toggl 2.0 app and log in with your Track credentials. The app sets up your 2.0 workspace.
Connect a calendar (optional). You'll see "See your full day in one place." Choose Connect Google Calendar, Connect Outlook Calendar, or Skip for now. This is optional and unrelated to the import.
Choose to import. On "Welcome to Toggl 2.0 — Bring your existing data with you," tap Import data. If you tap Skip for now, you can always import later from Settings.

2. Later, from Settings

If you skipped onboarding:

Open Settings. In the 2.0 app, go to Settings → Import from Track.
Confirm workspaces. Check the From (Track) and To (2.0) workspaces shown, then continue.

The import flow, step by step

Both entry points lead to the same screens.

Review what's coming across. The Import data screen shows the date window (e.g. Aug 4 to Sep 1), the From and To workspaces, and what comes across: Clients · Projects · Tasks · Tags · Time logs. Tap Next.
Confirm the counts. The Ready to import screen lists exactly how many items will be copied — for example Clients 0, Projects 6, Tasks 0, Time logs 10. It also reminds you: only your own data comes across, nothing in Track changes. Tap Import.
Import runs (7 steps). Import in progress shows the current step (Step 1 of 7 — Reading your Track data, and so on). You can tap Minimize and keep using the app — the import keeps running in the background even if you leave, and you'll get a note when it's done.
Done. Your Track data is here confirms the same counts have landed in your 2.0 workspace. Tap Explore Toggl 2.0.

After the import, your 2.0 workspace is populated — projects, tags, and time logs appear on the calendar exactly as they were in Track, including on past days.

Good to know

Nothing in Track changes. The importer only reads from Track and writes to 2.0. Your Track workspace is untouched.
Only your own data. Data belonging to other members of the Track workspace is not imported.
Mobile is windowed; web is full. Mobile brings the ±2-week window by default. For your complete history, run the import from the 2.0 web app.
You can leave mid-import. The job continues in the background if you minimise it or navigate away.
You can import later. Skipping the importer during onboarding is safe — re-run it any time from Settings → Import from Track.

Troubleshooting

I skipped the importer during onboarding — where is it? Go to Settings → Import from Track in the 2.0 app to start the flow again.
Some of my older data is missing after importing on mobile Mobile imports the last two weeks and next two weeks by default. To bring across everything, run the import from the Toggl 2.0 web app, which imports your full history.
The counts on the Ready to import screen look low The counts reflect only the data inside the default date window and only data you own. Older items outside the window won't appear in the mobile count — use the web app for the full set.
Did the import change anything in my Track workspace? No. The importer is a one-way copy into 2.0. Track is never modified.
