# Plans and pricing compared
## This guide shows how to compare Toggl's plans from inside the app, from the monthly and yearly toggle to the full feature comparison and the paid add-ons. It is for organization admins choosing or changing a plan. You will learn what the Explore plans page shows, how to pick the right tier and what happens when you subscribe or switch.
Toggl has four plans: Free, Starter, Premium and Enterprise. Organization admins who manage the subscription can compare them in **Admin settings → Explore plans**, switch between monthly and yearly prices, and subscribe or change plan from the same page. ### Open Explore plans
Only organization admins who manage the subscription see this page. To open it:
- Click **Upgrade** in the sidebar. It appears during a trial, or when a higher plan exists for your organization.
- Or open **Admin settings** in the sidebar, then **Explore plans** under **Organization**.

### What the page shows
The page is called **Choose your plan**. It shows:
| Element | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Monthly / Yearly** switch | Switches every price between monthly and yearly billing. The Yearly option shows how much you save. |
| **Plan cards** | Starter, Premium and Enterprise, each with a tagline, the features it adds and its price. Premium is marked **Most popular**. |
| **Price** | Shown per license, per month, with a note on whether it is **billed yearly** or **billed monthly**. Enterprise shows **Custom pricing**. |
| **Free plan row** | Free for a small team, with the member limit shown on the row. |
| **Active plan** | Marks your current plan and how many licenses you have. |
| **Compare all features** | Opens the full side-by-side comparison. |
| **Modules** | The paid add-ons, Time Off Management and Capacity Management, each with an **Add-on** badge, its price per user, and the option to start a 30-day free trial or subscribe. |
When Yearly is selected, the paid cards also show how many months you get free compared with paying monthly: 3 months on Starter and 4 months on Premium.

### How the plans differ
| Plan | Tagline in the app | What it adds |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Free** | For individuals getting started | Basic time tracking, projects, tasks and tags for up to three members |
| **Starter** | For teams that need visibility | Billable rates, capacity basics (personal time off, public holidays and flexible hours), team reports with advanced filters and grouping, public links to shared reports, and splitting a time log in two |
| **Premium** | For teams planning ahead | Project dashboards and profitability reports, timesheet approvals, utilization and workload reports, custom fields, Jira and Asana integrations, scheduled report emails, and single sign-on (SSO) |
| **Enterprise** | For orgs that need scale and support | Personalized onboarding, a dedicated customer success manager, custom solutions for your setup and workflows, and multiple workspaces under one organization |
Each plan includes everything in the plan before it. Click **Compare all features** for the complete list, with **Included** and **Not included** for every plan. The same list, with notes, is in [Toggl plans: what's included](https://docs.toggl.com/toggl-plans-whats-included?hsLang=en).
Two paid add-ons can be added on top of a paid plan: the [Time Off Management Add-on](https://docs.toggl.com/time-off-management?hsLang=en) and the [Capacity Management Add-on](https://docs.toggl.com/capacity-management-add-on?hsLang=en). Organization owners and admins can also start the Capacity Management trial or subscribe from the Capacity Management page: click **Capacity** in the sidebar, under **Manage**.
### Choose a plan
1. Open **Explore plans** and pick **Monthly** or **Yearly**.
2. On the plan you want, click the button on the card. It reads **Subscribe** if you are on a trial or the Free plan, **Upgrade to \[plan\]** for a higher plan, or **Downgrade** for a lower one. For Enterprise, click **Book a demo**, because Enterprise has custom pricing.
3. If you are subscribing, Toggl opens **Checkout** with three steps: **Your plan**, **Billing details** (name and country are required; the country is filled in from your location, so check it and change it if needed) and **Payment details**.
4. Review the **Order summary**, which shows the billing cycle, any discount, tax where applicable and the total.
5. Click **Finish and pay**.
When the payment goes through, Toggl shows "You're all set". If the payment is still processing, you get an email when it completes. If it fails, nothing is charged, so check the card details and try again.
### What happens when you change plan
- **Upgrading** takes effect immediately, and your next invoice is adjusted.
- **Downgrading** takes effect immediately on a monthly plan. On an annual plan, a downgrade is normally scheduled for the end of your prepaid term. You keep your current plan until then with nothing more to pay, and the new plan starts that day. The confirmation dialog shows the date, and a banner shows the scheduled change, with **Keep my current plan** to cancel it.

### Common questions
#### Why can't I change my plan?
Plan changes are paused if your last payment failed. Update your payment method on **Billing → Details**. You also can't pick a new plan while a change is already scheduled. Cancel it with **Keep my current plan**, then choose again. If checkout shows "Payments are not available for this account right now", contact Support. Trying again won't help.
#### Why does the page say Toggl is already included with my Toggl Track subscription?
Some organizations get a Toggl plan as part of their Toggl Track subscription. In that case the page shows a notice instead of the usual change buttons, and to change your Toggl plan you change your Toggl Track subscription. Toggl follows automatically. If the notice shows an end date, Toggl is included until that date and you can choose a plan below to continue.
#### Is there a plan with unlimited members?
The Free plan has a member limit shown on its row. Paid plans are billed per license, and the plans guide lists the license caps. Add or remove licenses on the Billing page.
#### Can I try a paid plan first?

#### How do I pay by bank transfer?
Bank transfer is available for annual plans only. Contact Support to arrange it.
