# Quickstart for guests
## This quickstart is for people from outside an organization, such as clients and reviewers, who have been invited to Toggl as a guest. It shows how to accept the invitation, find the project you were added to, and request work or leave feedback. You will also learn what a guest can’t do, so you know when to ask the workspace admin.
You have been invited to Toggl as a **Guest**. A Guest is an external collaborator with access limited to the specific projects they are added to. You can see what is happening on those projects, add tasks to request work, and leave notes. You cannot track time or see the rest of the workspace.

### 1. Accept your invitation
1. Open the invitation email and follow the link.
2. Sign in, or create a Toggl account with the same email address the invitation was sent to.
3. If you see **Accept invitation to proceed** with a list of pending invitations, click **Accept invitations**.
### 2. Find your project
After you sign in, you land on the **Projects** page. Open the project you were added to.
If you see a message that you are not invited to any projects, you have joined the workspace but nobody has added you to a project yet. Ask the workspace admin to open the project and add you as a member.
Pin a project to **Favorites** to jump between projects quickly.
### 3. Add and refine tasks
Inside a project you were added to, you can:
- **Create tasks** to request work, and edit, schedule and complete the tasks you created yourself.
- **Add notes** to any task in the project, including tasks other people created, to give context or feedback.
- **View the project overview**, except billing fields such as labor cost, budget and estimates.
### 4. Know what you can’t do
A Guest cannot:
- edit other people’s tasks (you can only add notes to them) or assign tasks,
- track time, set working hours or time off, or connect a calendar,
- open Reports or see billing data,
- change project settings or workspace settings.
Your sidebar is shorter than a member’s. You will see **Projects** and **Favorites**, but not the Timer, Tasks, Timeline or Time off pages. Your own account settings are still available.
Need more than this? Ask your admin to change your role to Member. They can do that from the Members page.
### Common questions
#### Why do I see “you are not invited to any projects”?
A guest sees nothing until an admin adds them to a project. Ask the admin to add you from the project’s members section.
#### Why can’t I edit a task someone else created?
Guests can edit only their own tasks. On other tasks you can add notes.
#### Why can’t I start a timer?
Time tracking is not available to the Guest role.
