Time accounting report
The Time Accounting report is part of the Time Off Pro add-on and shows how each member's time splits between worked hours and leave over a period you choose. It's built for finance and payroll reviews, and for capacity planning.
The report draws on time you've tracked, time-off entries, and public holidays, and gives you a worked-versus-leave view — it doesn't introduce a separate balances concept. For leave balances, what's been taken, and what's scheduled, see the Absence and balances report.
Opening the report
Go to Reports and select the Time Accounting tab.
Set the period you want to look at using the control at the top of Reports; it's the same one the other reports use.
What you'll see
A stat strip across the top totals logged hours, leave (grouped by policy and type), and public holidays for the members in view.
Below that, a stacked bar chart plots worked and leave hours across the period. The title changes to match the period you picked — for example, "Hours by week" for a weekly view.
The member breakdown table lists one row per member, with logged hours, overtime, a column for each leave policy, public holidays, and a row total. A totals row sits at the top. Click any column header to sort by it.
How the numbers are calculated
Logged hours are tracked (worked) time within the period.
Overtime is logged time beyond a member's schedule. It's a subset of logged hours shown in its own column — it isn't added again into the row total.
Leave is grouped by policy name and type, in hours. The per-day leave total uses the same capacity calculation as Toggl's other reports; if a day has leave recorded under more than one policy, it's split across those policies by how each entry overlaps the member's working hours.
Holidays are public holidays falling within the period.
Filtering the report
You can filter by member, team, or tag — those are the only three filters available. Team filters use organization teams, and membership resolves the same way for everyone, so admins and team leads see the same rows for a given team.
Exporting
You can export the report as CSV. The file is built from what's loaded on screen: a header row, one row per member, and a totals row.
Who can open it
The Time Accounting tab is available to people with a workspace role (including Admin, Manager, and Member) on an organization that has Time Off Pro. An organization admin who isn’t also in the workspace may not see the tab.
If Time Off Pro isn’t enabled, the tab shows the Time Off Pro upsell instead of the report — the same gate as Absence & balances.
Time Accounting is not a shareable saved view. Share and report-settings controls are hidden. Export is CSV only.
Troubleshooting
I don’t see the Time Accounting tab. You need a workspace role on an organization with Time Off Pro. There is no beta flag on this report.
I see an upsell instead of the report. The organization doesn’t have Time Off Pro. An org admin can start a trial or subscribe.
Overtime seems to double-count. Overtime is a subset of logged hours and is excluded from the row total on purpose. Use the row total as the authoritative figure.
Time Accounting hours don’t match Absence & balances. They measure different things. Time Accounting is worked hours vs leave hours over a period. Absence & balances is remaining balance, taken, scheduled, and absence rate. Leave here is measured in hours against each member’s working hours.
No Export CSV button. CSV export uses the same export permission as the other reports. Time Accounting does not export PDF or XLSX.
