Timezones in Toggl
Each member sets their own account timezone, which decides how dates, day boundaries, and reports look for them — time logs keep the timezone they were tracked in, and Workspace Admins or Team Leads can optionally view Summary and Time Logs reports converted to their own timezone.
Toggl 2.0 uses your personal account timezone to decide how dates, day boundaries, and reports are displayed. Every time log also remembers the timezone it was logged in, so changing your setting never rewrites what you've already tracked.
Set your account timezone
Go to Settings → Preferences → Time Preferences and choose your zone from the Account timezone dropdown.
This is a personal setting — each member sets their own. It controls:
- Which calendar day "today" falls on for you
- How day and week ranges are displayed across the app
Changing it does not rewrite anything you've already logged — see below.
Entries keep the timezone they were logged in
Every time entry stores the timezone it was created in. Switching your account timezone changes how new activity and day boundaries are displayed going forward — it doesn't retroactively convert entries you've already logged.
Example
- You log 2:00 PM–3:00 PM while your account timezone is set to Cairo (UTC+3)
- You later switch your account timezone to UTC+4
- That entry still shows as 2:00 PM–3:00 PM — Toggl doesn't shift it to match your new zone
View reports in your own timezone
On Reports, open the settings menu and turn on View reported data in my time to see every entry converted to your own account timezone instead of the timezone it was tracked in. View reported data in my time only changes how reports are displayed. It doesn't change the timezone stored on the underlying entries.
- Applies to the Summary and Time Logs reports only — Workload, Utilization, and Profitability aren't affected, and the toggle is disabled on those views
- Visible only to members with cross-user reporting access — Workspace Admins and Team Leads. Workspace Managers and regular Members won't see this toggle
This is especially useful for an admin or team lead reviewing a distributed team's reports in one consistent timezone, instead of a patchwork of whatever timezone each person tracked in.
Troubleshooting
I changed my account timezone but my past entries didn't move
That's expected — entries keep the timezone they were logged in. Your account timezone setting affects how new entries and day/week boundaries are displayed going forward, not history you've already logged.
I don't see "View reported data in my time" on Reports
This toggle is only visible to Workspace Admins and Team Leads. If you're a Workspace Manager or Member, ask an admin on your workspace to pull the report for you.
I turned on "View reported data in my time" but a report still looks off
The setting only applies to the Summary and Time Logs reports. Workload, Utilization, and Profitability reports aren't affected and keep showing each entry in the timezone it was tracked in.
Reports don't match the calendar day I expect
The period you select (e.g. "This week") is based on your own account timezone. An entry logged close to midnight can land on a different day than expected if it was tracked in another timezone.
